The image above is definitely different than many you see online. Is it perfect yet? No, not in my mind. However it is different. It’s a color infrared image that has a watercolor effect added to it, along with an edge treatment. Then an oval border and my logo.
What Would I Change?
Well one thing I would change is that funky grey/beige color on the very edges. I don’t like it. Is it changeable? Yes I still have the master tiff file so I’ll go mess with it soon. I might also match the oval border with the edge treatment. This depends on how I like things once I change that hideous outside edge color. It’s a work in progress.

The Image Above Is Different Too
This is an image I composed on a one day PhotoSafari that Ted Vieira and I took to Cedar City this past Saturday. It’s different as well. Not only the subject matter, ‘cuz where do you see old stoves like this? But also the story, and the light. Could I have Photographed it in color? Yup. But then it doesn’t really “match.” I mean back in those days we did not have color Photography.
Can you imagine all the work necessary to even cook on this stove? Back then this stove was the best! An Upgrade! ‘Cuz before this they were cooking on a grate over a campfire! How’s about the work necessary to chop and split that wood? Lots of story! Now a days we turn a dial, or press a button on a microwave. So the story is built into the image, and I haven’t even mentioned yet about who or how the stove was built!
And the light? Wow! That’s the best! Moody, and full of impact! Just like walking into the door of this cabin was. Wood floors, and smaller. ‘Cuz that’s less to heat. And I’ll just bet that stove kept things pretty warm as well. Plus in those days people were shorter, so I had to duck a bit. I also edited this image to be a bit more “moody.”

How’s about this image above? Wanna go fer a ride in my buggy? Just too cool! Can you imagine pullin’ up to the gate and pick up yer date in this? Jumping on down,… steady those horses! I just built that metal step today to make it easier to help my lady climb on in…
Techniques Required
In the master classes that I taught at B&C Camera I covered just a little bit about setting yourself apart. Many Photographers wish to do work that will set themselves apart from the thousands of images uploaded to the internet every day. However! Where do you learn that? Is it hard? No it’s actually pretty easy just like anything else once you have the knowledge. But you need some basic understanding of practices first, and then build upon that knowledge to take it to the next level.
Currently with the classes I teach at B&C I try and keep the pricing down to a reasonable level. But still at $39.00 that can add up fast. Also? Your commitment needs to be there in oder to show up every week or two. I mean we gotta shower and get out of our jammies ya know!

So I Have A Solution And I’m Announcing It Here!
I’m going to start teaching an in depth Photography and Editing Course online! Now one thing that is bad about YouTube currently, is there is little direction. You can go learn about lots of subjects, but first you kind of need to know what you’re looking for. Then you find that one subject and you’re lost because you do not have the basics leading up to how to accomplish your task already under your belt.
I’m going to solve that by starting at the beginning and bringing you along with purpose. My course will be for an entire year, with a new lesson every two weeks, and you’ll be uploading your images to the site so others can see your inspirations or you theirs! (yes with full credit and copyright to each other) This will be a private part of my website so only members will be able to see the lessons.
My goal is to build a cohesive community with world wide participation since I already have students from all over the world. Also in cooperation with this I’ll be doing some free PhotoSafaris where you’ll be able to meet and greet the other participants! This will be an ongoing community! Currently with many of my PhotoSafaris, I have returning clients who know one another. This adds to the experience for all of us! So now I’m building on that cameraraderie with a special, online community. (yup! I know camaraderie is spelled wrong. I wanted camera in it!)

Every Two Weeks There Will Be A New Video
That video will contain step by step guidance that you will be able work along side, and if you wish easily pause it. Also there will be a PDF download that you can print and place into a binder if you like for the whole series. No more getting outta your jammies if ya don’t want to!
There will be a new topic every two weeks, so I’m also hoping this will give students the incentive to get out and shoot. I’m looking to inspire you to practice techniques. Life happens, so if you don’t get out, no big deal, but I’m going to work hard to have you want to.
The videos will NOT be on YouTube! But they will be accessible to members even after I pass into the force! I will also be going in depth with LightRoom and PhotoShop.

The Image Above Is Probably My Most Commanding Edit To Date
It went from the scan of the image on the left, using the most expensive and best scanning methods at the time, to the finished image on the right which was exactly as the client remembered it, when she and her husband hiked to the location. She was sitting next to me for the entire edit. The fine art print is large and highly prized in their home. You will have the skills necessary to do work like this at the end of the year.
Ok Garrett, How Much And How Do I Get Started?
I’m offering this to my current newsletter subscribers for $249.00 for the first six months. And I’m offering a CyberMonday special as well. You only need $19.00 right now to sign up and reserve your spot! The cyber special is that $19.00 sign up fee applies to the price so your balance is only $230.00! That won’t be due until Mid January.
That works out to one less Starbucks a week. Easy peasey! AND… for those that jump on this, you will be “legacy members” where this will not be offered at this price again. You will also be entitled to special discounts on prints. There will be free PhotoShop brushes as well. You will also learn how to make your own PhotoShop brushes!

Jump on this opportunity though because the cyber special sign-up goes away on Christmas Day. After that the $249.00 number is in effect and goes away the last week in January. This is also something you can mention to your friends, even if they do not live in Vegas. This will be world wide, remember? All that is required to be involved in the Legacy offering is to be subscribed to my newsletter before the last week in January. Can someone still join after that? Yes, but pricing will be much higher. (hmmm maybe I’ll even do a Legacy “T” Shirt or sumthin’)
The second 14 weeks will be offered a month before completion of the first six months for $124.00 and the last 12 weeks will be offered for $119.00… In other platforms this type of program is offered at $999.00 or more! So this is a savings of over 75%!
Class will start February 1st, 2024. The introductory price will close that third week in January. $19.00 holds your spot now and the balance will be collected the last two weeks of January, 2024. The last three or four days of January, I will be uploading a bonus video for how to be prepared for class.
This Will Be Mighty Cool My Friends!
I will definitely teach you how to not only improve your Photography, but set yourself apart with some advanced techniques. You will also improve your friends and Photography family with like minded individuals from all over! Remember! The videos and downloads remain forever so you can review them anytime you wish! As much as you wish!
